Take Part
- Take Part
Interactive website - This was a class partner project to go out into the Grand Rapids community and find an issue in Grand Rapids that could be solved via some interactive design. My partner and I noticed a great need in the community for volunteers for our many events and many students just not knowing who to contact to help out. So we decided to make an all inclusive site for volunteering from both sides.
Members can input information to get suggested opportunities and can join communities to join with other volunteers. This, along with the photo gallery and newsfeed updating on the success of events and updates for future events, will bring visitors back to the site regularly.
We decided on the name "Take Part" to emphasize the idea of volunteering is becoming apart of something, and apart of the Grand Rapids community.

GOLF
As someone who works a lot of long days and nights on the computer, I recognize how important it is to get away from the screen for some ridiculous fun to free up the mind. So for my self-promotion piece, I took it as my responsibility to share this insight with the world.
This game is a mixture of miniature golf, croquet, and madness. So, get ready, because the world is now your golf course. This map will tell you everything you need to know, which really isn't that much… So, go for it. 2012 Branding, Graphic Design, Typography -
For the Love of Dairy
BFA Graphic Design Exhibition Show
Vinyl wall infographic and 28 page book
Growing up in the small farming community of Fowler, Michigan, I didn’t have to live on a farm to understand what it meant to be a farmer. I saw how farming instills a work ethic and responsibility that reaches beyond the farm. I felt how it connects and supports an entire community.
When I came to college, I was confused by people's criticisms of dairy farming, which were formed by only small clips of information. This was not how I knew dairy farming, so I went back to my community and talked with several farmers about what it meant to run a dairy farm. I walked around their farms with them. I saw how they operate their businesses and how they care for their animals, employees, and land. I created this campaign to show people what dairy farming looks like from the farm, not the Internet.

K&K Wedding Invitation
It seems every designer ends up designing at least one wedding invitation package. Well, I am happy to share with you the invitation of these two wonderful people, now one happily married couple.
We decided to have guests RSVP by email, but for those guests who still preferred to respond via email, the post card saved on extra envelope and postage cost. However, we were pleasantly surprised by how many guests still utilize the good old-fashioned mailbox. 2012 Creative Direction, Graphic Design, Typography -
